The Orange Room Review

Accessible poetry of substance

In Between

by Alarie Tennille

These things you remember -
meeting your lover, vacations in Paris,
the day your mother died.
But a lovely April morning
or even Christmas melts
into other springs, other holidays.
Life is like a loaf of bread
heeled by joy and sorrow, the soft
sameness in between
barely tasted.
